Alternative Things To Do On St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day parades and activities across the country (and the globe) have been cancelled due to concerns of the further spread of the Coronavirus. This may have come to huge disappointment to a lot of children (and adults) who have spent months planning, organising and making costumes for parades and/or activities held across the country. Get Crafty!

You probably already have a good few St Patrick’s Day themed decorations hanging about the place if your children are in school, but a few more won’t do any harm. It’s a fun way for the kids to spend a few hours, and gives you a bit of peace - win/win if you ask us! Some of our favourite arts and crafts projects for St. Patrick’s Day include greetings cards, this pop up card is a great idea!

Play Games!

Most games can be played with whoever is in the house so why not have some fun with a St. Patrick’s Day theme game day! The Spruce have some great ideas for Paddy’s day kids games. Our favourites include a ‘gold hunt’, think Easter Egg hunt but use chocolate coins instead. Afterall, Leprechauns love their gold. Place some gold coins around your house and/or garden and let the kids loose to track them down. Depending on the age group you have to entertain, you could add clues in for older children, making it that bit more difficult - and fun!

Watch Some Movies!

Settling in for the day with a good movie and some snacks is often the perfect way to spend St Patrick’s Day. Some movies that keep with the theme of the day include:
